Our Latest Update
AN UPDATE TO OUR CALL FOR HELP!
|Thank you for the incredible response to our call for help for our health care community. We have been inundated with questions, so we have compiled a list of Frequently Asked Questions that you can view HERE. If you are sewing masks and will be dropping them of at Dublin Sewing Center, please be sure to write the number of masks in the bag(s) on the outside of the bag, and if possible, use the "wire instructions" for the nose area of the mask, no matter which pattern you are using. While we appreciate your willingness to help our community, please try to refrain from calling or emailing the store with your questions. We are not fully staffed, and those who are at the store are not sewists and may not have an answer to some of your questions regarding the sewn masks. The best way you can help at this time is to stay at home and be safe. We await your return when things return to normal.
A CALL FOR HELP
As you are aware, our medical community is in dire need of face masks for protection. One of our customers is an ICU nurse at a local hospital in Oakland and is asking for our help. There are 200 employees in the ICU department alone that need two masks each for washing capability. Our employees are starting this project now, but we are reaching out to the rest of the Dublin Sewing Center sewists for help.
The masks need to be made out of 100% cotton that is tightly woven with cotton straps. Gretchen is asking that all of the fabric and batting be pre-washed. Please, don't use fabric softener. Please follow either Gretchen's instructions or the "AB Mask for a Nurse by a Nurse" pattern, which can by found at the following links.

You can mail the masks or we are doing curb side drop off as well. Please put your masks in a sealed zip lock bag before mailing or dropping off. While the store is closed to the public, Dave, Karen and Darren are in the store Monday - Saturday, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, so you can either call before you drop off, or leave your bag by the door and knock.
Your help with this is very much appreciated!
Dave and Karen
Dublin Sewing Center
To our valued customers,
Hope you all are doing well and staying busy with your projects! We have made modifications to our store hours as we continue to follow the non-essential store instructions given by the county and remain closed to the public through April 7. Karen, Darren, and I are at the Dublin store Monday through Saturday, from 10:00 to 4:00. The Fremont location is closed through April 7.
Darren is working on repairs to get them back to you in a timely manner. We are offering curbside drop off and pick up of repairs. We are here to supply you with any sewing needs you may have. We can take orders over the phone and provide curb side service, or ship items to you. We can provide any technical support via phone or email. If you are interested in a new machine or cabinet, contact Dave for his Dave's Here Sale!
We will update our website as we continue to learn more information. Karen hopes to see many completed projects when we can open our doors again!
Thank you for your continued support and stay healthy,
